Abstract text:
In this paper a case study for tall reinforced concrete tower design is presented. The aim of this study is to develop a design method for concrete reinforced towers used to support wind power turbines, taking into account the particular design requirements related to the Romania specific soil conditions and earthquake hazard. A spectral analysis was done using current design practice, and starting from these benchmark values, a more thorough time-history analysis was done with the a detailed model that took into account the soil–structure interaction phenomena.
Key Words:
reinforced concrete; finite element analysis; wind turbine; soil–structure interaction.
