Abstract text:
Moisture represents the main cause for the degradation of historical buildings. In addition to the negative effects moisture has on the construction elements, it also carries soluble salts from the soil or from the materials it passes through the capillary pores, thus fostering the acceleration of the degradation processes. The main objective of this research is to establish the influence of soluble salts crystallization in the pores of construction materials on their physical characteristics.
